Abstract

This article puts in evidence the tension between a hopeless vision of man and the world in the century that has just concluded, the birth od a new hopefulnes that seems to slipo out of the author against his will, but of which the study shows clear evidence.

Matrices of sense which give unity to the book are observed, as well as the relation of the text to the intertext of the Gregorian Requiem Mass of long standing tradition, object of innumerable artistic recreations.
