Dear community of the Chilean Journal of Nursing, we inform you that we continue to receive articles for publication this 2026,
with a continuous publication system on Nursing and Health Sciences topics;
and an average publication time of nine weeks from article submission to publication. (GUIDELINES FOR THE AUTOR)
Objective: This article aims to analyze the synergy between artificial intelligence, mobile devices, and evidence-based study techniques to enhance learning in higher education and prepare students for an ever-evolving labor market. Development: Through an argumentative analysis, it discusses how the personalization of learning, adaptive feedback, and task automation—supported by artificial intelligence and accessible through mobile platforms—help improve academic performance and develop 21st-century competencies, while also considering the ethical benefits and challenges involved, such as algorithmic bias and privacy. In addition, it addresses counterarguments and critical challenges that may limit implementation, including the risk of technological dependence and the possible reduction of cognitive autonomy if clinical reasoning is replaced; tensions with academic integrity in the face of generative AI use; and pedagogical and institutional gaps, such as insufficient faculty training, the lack of clear policies, and unequal access to infrastructure and digital skills development. Conclusions: The arguments presented allow us to conclude that the pedagogically responsible integration of these technologies fosters more efficient training, drives educational innovation, and strengthens the critical and adaptive skills needed for human–machine collaboration, provided that ethical, technical, and institutional safeguards are put in place to promote critical and safe use in the context of health education.
