Abstract

This article relates to the project architect Carlos Carvajal Miranda (1872-1950), who tries to build linear cities in Chile. Carvajal is inspired by the proposals of the Spanish Soria and Mata, and is committed to solving the problems that are beginning to register in Chilean cities at the beginning of the twentieth century. During this period, attempts to resolve conflicts arising from social, economic and technological change, and give the city a better level as other cities of the continent.
